Learning Support Center

The Learning Support Center is for students who need additional support in their general education classes. Depending on the level of support needed, students may be placed on consultation or placed in a Basic Skills period (1/2 credit). The Learning Support teachers work with the general education teachers to provide appropriate accommodations in the regular classroom. The Learning Support Center provides extra time for testing, small settings, scribes for tests, verbal testing, copies of notes, and other accommodations depending on each students’ individual needs.   The Learning Support Center has assistive technology available to the students in our program. Kurzweil 3000 is a premier reading, writing, and learning software for students with disabilities. Dragon Naturally Speaking is a speech recognition program that helps student with writing difficulties. Inspiration is a software students can use to plan and complete projects successfully. We also have iPads, laptops, and 4 desktops available for our students to use.
